Privacy and cookies: summary in English

Summary of the Italian Privacy and Cookie Policy, last updated 8 October 2026. The legally binding text is the Italian version; this page only helps non-Italian readers understand it.

1. Who processes your data

For tour registrations made on this website, the two companies are joint controllers (Art. 26 GDPR) until the trip is confirmed. You can exercise your rights towards either of them; the single contact point is in section 6.

2. What we collect, why, and for how long

Contact form and tailor-made quotes: name, email, phone, trip details and message, to reply and prepare a proposal (pre-contractual measures, Art. 6.1.b GDPR). Kept for 24 months after the last contact, unless it becomes a travel contract.
Tour waiting list: name, email, phone and the tour you chose, only to tell you when that tour opens (Art. 6.1.b). Kept for 24 months; you can leave the list at any time.
Tour registrations: participants' details, room type, ages of any minors, notes, to register you and send organisational messages (Art. 6.1.b). Kept 12 months after the tour date if the trip does not go ahead; if it does, up to 24 months after the trip by UniqueBorn and for the legally required time (up to 10 years for contracts and accounts) by MRH Group.
Emails to past travellers: news about trips similar to one you bought, by email only (legitimate interest within the limits of Art. 130(4) of the Italian Privacy Code). You can opt out at any time with the unsubscribe link or by writing to us.
Free guides: name, email and guides chosen, to email you the links (Art. 6.1.b). Kept for 12 months. Requesting a guide does not subscribe you to the newsletter.
Newsletter: email, optional name, sign-up page, date, time and IP address of sign-up and confirmation, based on your consent with double opt-in (Art. 6.1.a). Kept until you unsubscribe; afterwards only your email and dates stay on a block list so we never write again. Unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted after 30 days. We do not track opens or clicks.
Health data: please do not enter health information in the forms. If it is needed for the trip, we ask for it after confirmation and only with your explicit consent (Art. 9.2.a).
Server logs: IP address, date, time, pages and browser, to run and protect the site (legitimate interest). Kept for up to 30 days.

3. Who can see your data

Paola Breazzano and authorised staff of UniqueBorn Srl and MRH Group Srl; for tour participants, also the tour leader of that trip. Our processors (Art. 28 GDPR): Hostinger (hosting and email, EU), Microsoft Ireland (Paola's mailbox, EU), Supabase (database, servers in London), PikaPods (listmonk, EU), Amazon Web Services (email sending via Amazon SES, EU region), Enginemailer (previous newsletter service, only until the migration) and Google Ireland (Google Analytics 4, only if you accept statistics cookies). If you accept marketing cookies, Meta is joint controller for the Meta pixel. We never sell your data.

4. Transfers outside the EU

United Kingdom (adequacy decision); Singapore and Malaysia (standard contractual clauses, Art. 46 GDPR); United States (EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses). You can ask us for a copy of the safeguards.

5. Cookies

Technical cookies make the site work and remember your cookie choice for 6 months. Statistics cookies (Google Analytics 4) and marketing cookies (Meta pixel) are used only if you accept them. You can change your choice at any time from Manage cookies.

6. Your rights and how to contact us

You can ask to access, correct, delete or restrict your data, receive it in a portable format, object to processing based on legitimate interest or to promotional emails, and withdraw consent at any time. We make no decisions based solely on automated processing. You can also lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).
